Back in 2017, I was shopping for a second car after I found a job after being unemployed for 10 months and was forced to drive my E90 M3 everyday !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! I was really thinking about another 128i, albeit with a manual. I ultimately decided on a single owner E92 328i with a 6MT, mainly because I couldn’t find a decent 6MT 128i. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!
This 128i has the prop er transmission, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . It’s also in a pretty excellent color combo, with mineral grey metallic over Boston beige; the same color combo as my dad’s 135is.
I find it a bit ironic the seller chose to obscure the fake front plate, but not the rear plate:
Not a big fan of the chrome window trim, but that’s a minor detraction from this otherwise very appetizing car.
For $13.5k, it’s $3.5k less than I paid for my 328i back in 2017. If anyone is looking for a naturally aspired BMW with hydraulic steering and a manual look no further!

Was the front plate obscured? It looks like a blank to me.

Not sure, but I don’t know why you’d have a blank fake euro plate on the front. I might have made an assumption.

I’ve seen them for sale. The pics look to clean to be shopped.

I’m in a temporary dislike mode of the 1-series. My girlfriend’s 128i just fried an ignition coil. It’s the second one the car has already gone through, and it only has 31k miles...

That seems to be the only weak point of the car, besides gaskets that aren’t the head gasket. I’d replace all and be done with it.

Yup. All six coils and spark plugs have been replaced.

I try not to look for a while after I buy. It always seems like when you are really serious not much comes up, then after you buy all the good stuff gets offered.

I like the 1-series and 2-series BMWs but I’d have to get them in a bright, flashy color that isn’t a shade of black, gray, or white.
Life is too short to have a BMW that blends in.

You think issues at 30k miles are bad, wait until you see what happens at 130k miles. I’ll be wrenching on my wife’s X1 tomorrow.

It's kind of like a long drought in your dating life. Then once you're spoken for, you're suddenly beating them away with a stick

I’d be honestly surprised if we get her car up that high in miles. She averages between 4,000 and 5,000 miles per year. In fact, her 2010 Jetta that kicked the bucket (which led us to getting the 128) only had 42 k miles on it
Unfortunately, she has a very rough time with anxiety behind the wheel, particularly on highways. So any long drives usually result in me being behind the wheel, and usually in one of my cars.
G ood luck on that X1 though!

Hoping this is just an outlying incident. The car is genuinely fun to drive.

Luckily, in the almost three years since I’ve bought my 328i, there have only been a handful of cars I would’ve bought over it.
